Tokyo Voices of Praise is a Gospel choir singing praises unto our Lord,Jesus Christ, gathering together people from many
different churches.
We pray that through our singing, the good news would be spread to many people who do not know the Lord.

Anybody who want to listen to real Gospel music, or sing with us, please come and be a part of our concerts and rehearsals.

What’s Gospel?

Black Gospel has been made known by famous Gospel singers such as Mahelia Jackson, or movies like “The Blues Brothers”, or “Sister Act”, or musicals such as “Mama, I want to sing”.
Black Gospel has moved many souls. It derives its roots from the hearts of the multitude of slaves who trusted God even under severe hardship.

Then, what is “Gospel” in its true sense?
“Gospel” means “good news”.
 

Then, what is this “good news” is about?
The Bible says,
“For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life”(John 3:16)

God loves us no matter how we are, no matter what kind of sin we commit, or what kind of person we are.
“The only Son” means Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is our Saviour.

Jesus says,
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”(Matthew 11:28)

Why do we sing?
Because we are loved by God and we are saved from our sins by God’s Grace.
We just want to express the joy of our salvation-that is Gospel music.
That is why we sing from the bottom of our hearts.
And you cannot help singing from your heart if you join us.

In Psalm 101:4, it says,

“Give thanks to Him and praise Him”.

This is a Bible verse which we often quote as the theme for T.V.O.P.
In Bible, praising God’s name is a command which is repeated many times.
We are told to praise God, but we do not have to take it as a mere duty, because praising God is a blessing which is given by Him.
We, as T.V.O.P, has been given many chances to praise God in many different places.

What did we feel at that moment?
What we felt were joy and thanksgiving unto the Lord, Jesus.
